Andy Goldsworthy - Sticks and Stones
Posted by Ben Crudo on
As I child, growing up next to a forested ravine, we would spend our time getting dirty. We loved to construct dames, divert the water flow, build forts and all the other fun stuff that kids liked to do. Once I got a bit older I continued to spend most of my time outdoors and in the mountains. When I first discovered Andy Goldworthy I was immediately drawn to his work because he has taken his love for the natural world and turned it into an incredible outlet for his creativity. [youtube video_id="FPDH8yCnlk0" width="640" height="360" ] Goldsworthy creates works of art using materials and landscapes that exist naturally. Many of his works are built only to be destroyed, either by the incoming tide, or melting from rising temperatures. It takes a lot of love and dedication to commit to this type of brief gratification. His work is truly inspirational. Enjoy -
