Halloweek is kicking off this weekend with the Toronto Zombie Walk. Even if you're not walking with the undead this year, you should come down to the area and watch the corpse parade during your weekend browsing. Here's some other cool events to check out in the area this year: Ghostwalks Mackenzie House Spirit WalkHaunted Toronto Walking Tours: fun and a little bit cheesy (in a good way), these are both good activities for history buffs. Wear your favourite period-inspired attire, 90's wannabe goth ensemble, or the time-honoured sheet with eyeholes. Drinking & Dancing Every bar in the city is sure to be throwing a party, but these ones have some pretty good posters
    (best dressed neighbourhood, hands down.)
Performance
  • Thrill the World Toronto: Learn and dance to the classic MJ Halloween anthem. Don't forget your sparkles and best jacket!
  • Toronto After Dark Film Festival: Our neighbours Toronto Underground Cinema will be hosting this years Horror Film festival. If you wear a costume, make sure it's comfortable to sit in! Latex beware!
  • Rocky Horror Picture ShowRepo! The Genetic Opera Shadowcasts: Also at the Underground, cult films Rocky & Repo will be screened, but with a twist: live actors interpret the movie on stage. A decades-old Halloween tradition!
  • Grindhouse Ghoulies Halloween Burlesque Showcase: Skin Tight Outta Sight & Great Canadian Burlesque and friends team up for a night of frights and flesh at Revival. If True Blood taught us anything, there's no greater aphrodisiac than blood and boobs.
  • Amusement Parks Of course, there's always the Vampire Lounge at Screemers or the Halloween Haunt featuring Mysterion the Mindreader and the hanging of Molly McIver. And for those of you who balk at the idea of putting together a costume and traipsing around with blood on your faces, there's always Queen Video for scary movie rentals. We suggest curling up in a comfy cowichan and watching new release "Attack the Block." Tell us where you'll be at next weekend in the comments section. Happy Haunting!
