For those of you that dont know, the Trifecta is when you can snowboard, surf, and skate in the same day. On Saturday, Feb 25th, the stars aligned and i was able to pull this off in my very own city, Vancouver. I have been trying to pull this off for a long time.
There are many challenges to pulling this off. First of all there is not to many places on earth that you can snowboard close enough to a surf break. In Vancouver the only way you get waves is if there is consistent west wind of over 30 knots for 4 hours. Yesterday we had over 60 knot winds and we had just gotten 30cm of snow on the local mountains.
I spent the morning shredding pow on Mt. Seymour followed by an afternoon surf at Ambleside park in West Van. The snow was amazing and the waves were actually better than I have ever seen. I followed it all up with a skate session at the super secret F as in Frank mini ramp, dope as always. Thanks to Jesse, Richie, Pete, and Alicia for joining in the fun.
Drew,
